The infamous 300Tdi vacuum pump. These are prone to failing, and we have even seen some fail in such a way they damage the camshaft. It has been recommended to fit these with two gaskets (ERR2027) to shim them out from the cam. This seems to help; but once the back plate starts to leak the pump is stuffed.
